To Blog or Not to Blog

Blogging.  I have done it in the past and I must admit that I have enjoyed spewing out the random snippets of logic, truth, and nonsense that float around my brain all day long like unflushed turds in a dirty, public restroom.  But I only get enjoyment out of it because I am a man that has extreme passion in his beliefs and I possess an adequate amount of intelligence to lend some credibility to my writing.  But blogging, as we call written expression in this digital age, is an open forum where any retard with a computer can sit down and type (probably faster than myself) any stupid, trivial thought or plan or idea that may spring into his or her head.  Ninety percent of it is rubbish.  Do you or I really care what some 15 year-old spoiled brat has to say about the new Fall Out Boy album?  Does anyone want to waste their time reading about a first-time mother’s diaper changing tips?  Do we really want to hear a long, boring diatribe from a woman who thinks her husband may be cheating on her because he’s spending way too much time at the office?  The answer is “NO” in my opinion.  Keep that mouth-manure to yourself.  Nobody cares and I hate you.

I’ve always had this negative stigma toward the concept of blogging because anyone can do it.  There’s a reason why it’s so difficult to become a published writer.  You have to have talent with the craft of the written word, or at the very least be a good storyteller.  The average sentient being on this planet has nothing to say, let alone the means to transfer said nothingness on the page to create an enjoyable reading experience.  My rule of thumb is that I want to read smart shit or weird shit.  Enlightenment and laughter are the two key elements that I look for when I plop down in front of my computer and attempt to digest a piece of someone else’s life.  The same goes for what I plan to share with others who may accidentally stumble upon this blog.

Make no bones about it.  This will probably be another failed experiment on my part.  I have every intention to try to write as often as possible.  However, my inability to commit to anything in my life usually gets in the way of goal accomplishing.  But maybe this will be different.  Maybe this is for real.  I have many dark thoughts, inappropriate opinions, and hilarious, albeit embarrassing, anecdotes to share with you.  And I’ll do it right here where the least amount of people will read what I have to say.  Let’s face it.  If I posted even half of what I have in mind for this site on MySpace, I’d be beaten and accosted by the majority of the people on my friend’s list.  The world we live in is full of judgmental pricks.  I choose to stay on the outskirts of society, a little place I like to call “the fringe”.

Join me… you won’t be disappointed.
